Midweek Meal: Wednesday, November 7: Dinner is served 4:45-5:45 PM. This week’s menu is Meatball Stroganoff with Noodles and Cranberry Salad & the desserts you bring. Please sign up by Monday, 11/5 on the Ramp Bulletin Board, in your SBS class or by calling the office. Suggested donation for meals is $3/person or $10/family. If you know of a shut-in or elderly person and would be willing to deliver a meal to them, it is free of charge. Please put their name on the sign up sheet and indicate “Shut-In”.

Special L.E.A.D. Luncheon Next Sunday! God’s Champions Special Needs Ministry is inviting Hand in Hand Family Resource Center to provide a training called L.E.A.D.- Leaders Embracing All-Abilities and Diversity. The training includes tips and information on interacting appropriately with people with disabilities with the goal of a more inclusive environment. Help our church take a LEAD in embracing individuals with special needs! When: November 11, 2018 Time: Luncheon after 10:30 church service – Training at 1:00 Sign up by TODAY on the ramp bulletin board or in the office.
 
Football Chapel is This Friday 11/9 at 6:30am. Big hearts are needed to make and serve breakfast to the football team and cheerleaders. Interested in helping? Contact the church office.
 
FBC is Hosting the Jubilee Kitchen on November 17. Monetary donations and desserts would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Diane Gelbaugh if you are interested in donating and/or making a dessert.

Fall into a Good Book Lately? Stop by our Library and rake in a bunch of good reads! Who knows what adventures you’ll go on as you leaf through the pages! The Library is located across from the Nurseries and is open 8:45-10:30am on Sundays and 5:45-7:30pm on Wednesdays.
 
Pictures of Veterans Needed – During our Veterans Day Sunday services, FBC would like to honor any veteran who has served. Please send in a picture of your veteran in military dress, if possible, to the church office by November 6th. Please also include their name and which branch of the military they served in. All pictures in last year’s Veterans Day slide show will be included in this year’s slide show. You do not have to re-submit pictures.
 
Because of your Love In Action…
  • Mountains of candy were collected for Trunk-or-Treat
  • Several trips were made to take the Feed-a-Friend food to Shiloh
  • 54lbs of pet food were collected for the Danville SPCA
  • The Haiti Team has a huge challenge to pack all the school supplies, LuoPad kits, and more that were collected
  • Items collected for our LuoPad Team helped them exceed their goal of 500 kits and finish up with a grand total of 530 kits!
  • 26 College Care packages were stuffed full and sent out
 
30 Hour Famine – Our Youth will be taking part in the 30 Hour Famine on November 16-17 to help raise awareness and funds for hungry children around the world. Would you stand with us in praying for and/or donating to help us fight hunger? Checks can be made out to World Vision and given to P. Luke as the contact person or visit our fundraising page at youth.worldvision.org/teams/ironyouth.

LuoPad Team – Join us the first Thursday of every month at 9:30am as we continue to assemble LuoPads in the BFLC. This is an ongoing mission through GAiN that provides sanitary undergarments to women all over the world! We’d love to have you join us! If you’d like sewing lessons so you can help out, contact Patty Miller.

Brian Stamm’s Memorial Service is Today Brian was a legend in Danville wrestling who was a state champion, part of the state championship team, honored as an NCAA Division III All-American and inducted into the District IV Wrestling Hall of Fame. He went on to marry Lori and have a wonderful family which included 7 children. He faithfully served his Jesus and was very active in his local church. After a 7 year battle with cancer, he passed away at the age of 43. His mother, Norene, is FBC family and invites you to remember her son with her on Sunday 10/28 at 3pm with a time of fellowship to follow in the BFLC.

Trim Healthy Mama Are you looking for a healthier eating lifestyle? Maybe you have heard of Trim Healthy Mama and would like to know more or have already started and are completely overwhelmed. Following the 10:30am service on October 14, you are invited to our THM group meeting. A potluck dinner will be held, sharing THM dishes and recipes, as well as discussion about the program. RSVP to Rachel Renno by October 10.
 

The Forge: A Regional Ministry for Men meets on Tuesdays at 7PM in the gym. Our mission is to support one another in life, faith and personal growth with Trust, Confidentiality, and Authenticity. There will be faith based teaching and small group discussion. Light refreshments available.

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery, or are going through a tough time. They also provide transportation to shut-ins needing a ride to doctors’ appointments as well! If you are interested in join this team of big hearts, please circle “C” on your bulletin and mention if you are interested in making meals, transportation, or both!

LuoPad Team Join us the first Thursday of every month at 9:30am as we continue to assemble LuoPads in the BFLC. This is an ongoing mission through GAiN that provides sanitary undergarments to women all over the world! We’d love to have you join us! Trim Healthy Mama Are you looking for a healthier eating lifestyle? Maybe you have heard of Trim Healthy Mama and would like to know more or have already started and are completely overwhelmed. Following the 10:30am service on October 14, you are invited to our THM group meeting. A potluck dinner will be held, sharing THM dishes and recipes, as well as discussion about the program. The Forge: A Regional Ministry for Men meets on Tuesdays at 7PM in the gym. Our mission is to support one another in life, faith and personal growth with Trust, Confidentiality, and Authenticity. There will be faith based teaching and small group discussion. Light refreshments available.

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery, or are going through a tough time. They also provide transportation to shut-ins needing a ride to doctors’ appointments as well! If you are interested in join this team of big hearts, please contact the church office!

Hurricane Relief  – Responding with Aid, Restoring Dignity, and Revealing Hope – With all that we’ve been seeing in the news, you might be asking, “How can I help?”  Global Aid Network, who was just here for our seed and food packing event, are already on the ground! They are in places like Wilmington, NC with trucks filled with disaster relief supplies as they work on initial damage assessments and sharing Jesus’ love. If you’d like to help them financially, feel free to put your donation in the Love Offering envelope located in the pew rack and note “hurricane” on the envelope. If you would like to donate by check, please make it out to FBC and note “hurricane” in the memo.

Our goal is to provide you with a tribe of supportive women as you navigate the world of motherhood, faith, and life together. Meetings are 9-11am 2nd Wednesday of each month September through May.
