Ladies Open Door Bible Study TUESDAYS (9/28) @ 9AM | WEDNESDAYS (9/29) @ 6PM – Over 8 sessions, Kelly Minter will lead you through the letter of 2 Corinthians in “All Things New”, exploring the anchoring truths of bearing treasures in jars of clay, meeting Christ through a pressing thorn, opening wide your heart in the midst of hurtful relationships, and what it means to embrace the lost and lonely as ministers of the new covenant. Each of us has a message to proclaim and live by: Because of Jesus the old has gone, the new has come. Sign up today in the main lobby. Grab your workbook also for a suggested donation of $18. LuoPad Ministry This Thursday @ 9:30AM – This dynamic group of ladies will meet on the first Thursday of each month to assemble sanitary garments for women in third world countries. 1000’s have been made and sent around the world already!

The Barnabas Basket is a monthly food collection that takes place on the first Sunday of the month (Communion Sunday). All donations are given to the Danville Food Bank. The basket will be located in main foyer. September: Canned Veggies

Football Chapel THIS Friday! Games for the Danville High School Football team are upon us, as are football chapels! The guys meet at 6:55am on Friday mornings prior to games for prayer and devotions…and breakfast! We are looking for help in the kitchen to make breakfast sandwiches for these hungry guys. If you are interested, contact the church office.

Family Meal Sign-ups begin next week! Sign up sheets will be available in adult Sunday school classes, on the ramp bulletin board and in the Friday newsletters. Signing up you and/or your family for the Wednesday family meal is a tremendous help to our kitchen team so they know how much food to make. The Kitchen team will continue their ministry to our sweet shut-ins! If you would like to bring a meal to shut-in, sign them up, note ”shut-in” and the kitchen team will box the meal up for you to pick up.

Ladies Open Door Fall Bible Study will be back on Tuesdays (starting on 9/28 at 9am) and on Wednesdays (starting on 9/29 at 6pm)! These will be in-person meetings. More information to come!

Prison Ministry Update! The men’s prison ministry received the green light to begin again!! Praise God!! They are headed back to the North Central Secure Treatment Unit here in Danville starting this week. Prayer begins in the parking lot at 7pm prior to visits (Tuesdays at Focus Unit and
Wednesdays at Hope Unit). The desperate need that this ministry is meeting requires as many godly men that would come forward. The women’s prison ministry is already in their 7th week of meeting! This faithful group of women meet Monday evenings to bring the good news of hope and spiritual freedom to the women of North Central Secure Treatment Unit. If you are interested in the prison ministry, contact Jim Cunfer.

FBC Summer Reading Program Our Library Summer Reading Program is wrapping up today. Return your signed race card to the library and earn a prize once you have crossed the finish line! A parent/guardian signature is required on your completed card for prize eligibility. Cards are due by TODAY (8/15)!

Blanket Collection for Unto From locust infestations to forest fires, to floods, blankets have been in high demand! As a result, Unto, formerly GAiN, is in dire need of replenishing their blanket stock and is collecting new or gently-used blankets. Our collection point is in the main foyer through today!

Christian Literature Collection We’ll be collecting gently used Bibles, Christian books, CD’s and DVD’s. LuoPad Ministry This Thursday @ 9:30AM This dynamic group of ladies will meet on the first Thursday of each month to assemble sanitary garments for women in third world countries. 1000’s have been made and sent around the world already!

Happening This Sunday The Barnabas Basket is a monthly food collection that takes place on the first Sunday of the month (Communion Sunday). All donations are given to the Danville Food Bank. The basket will be located in main foyer. August’s Need: Peanut Butter & Saltines

Fishnet Sabbatical This group of ladies will be back in action on August 12th!

Sundaes with the Wonderlands! THIS Saturday @ 3pm in the gym. Join us in saying “see you later” to Pastor Harry and Lynn Wonderland as they begin their new adventure living closer to family in Virginia! Cards are welcome, but no gifts please. No RSVP needed!

Family Fun Day Heartfelt Thanks! Many thanks to all who helped out! From setting up to flipping burgers to putting salads in bowls to organizing food lines to monitoring the slip-n-slide to organizing the ball game to clean up; we couldn’t have done it without you!!

Blanket Collection for Unto From locust infestations to forest fires, to floods, blankets have been in high demand! As a result, Unto, formerly GAiN, is in dire need of replenishing their blanket stock and are collecting blankets, new or gently-used. Our collection point will be in the main foyer starting next Sunday.

Mission of the Week: HAITI’S SCHOOL CHILDREN! The Missionary: Francklin (shown with his wife Nerlie) was appointed as a missionary with Missions Door in 2006 to serve as the youth and children’s ministries coordinator. The Project: For many children in Haiti, the cost of education often hinders them from attending school and receiving an education. Your support to the Haiti Children’s School Scholarships project is an opportunity to provide a child with the gift of an education. All gifts given to this project go directly towards paying for school fees. The Numbers: Cost for 1 Child to attend school for 1 year: $ 355.00. Following 10:30 service, everyone is invited to enjoy hotdogs and hamburgers, a giant slip-n-slide with a lagoon, a Little’s splash area, Bocce, Corn Hole, Ga-Ga pit and MORE! No cost! Catch the softball game happening in our ball field! (Disclaimer: Outdoor events are weather pending)

Special Business Meeting We’ll be convening at 9AM on Sunday, July 25th. Following the 8am service, join us in the sanctuary! We’ll be recommending new members. We do not expect this meeting to impact Sunday School classes. All are welcome! Only members may vote though.

Fishnet Meeting This group of amazing ladies will be meeting again on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon at the home of Linda Beyer. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please contact Donna Outt.

No cost! We’ll also have softball for Sr. highers and older!! Sign up for a team in the main foyer or call the office to register your team of 10 by Friday. Bring own equipment. Family Fun Day Volunteers Needed To make this event as fun as it always is we are going to need help!! The following jobs needs are…
