Church Potluck Sunday @ 12pm in Gym – Dr. David Whitaker, President of Venture Church Network is our guest speaker today. All are invited to attend a potluck following the 10:30am service where we will be hearing more from Dr. Whitaker.

Family Meal Wednesday
Served: 4:45-5:45PM | Suggested Donation is $3/person or $10/family
Sign Up by Monday: Ramp Bulletin Board, in SBS class or call the office Menu: Chicken Quesadillas and the desserts you bring. Desserts are on a donation basis; feel free to share a dessert any time.
Special Needs: If you know of a shut-in or elderly person you would like to deliver a meal to, please sign them up and indicate “Shut-In”. Meals for special needs are free of charge.
 
Red Cross Blood Drive will be here Monday, October 7th, in the BFLC (gym) from 12:30-5:30pm. Register online at redcross.org.
 
Men’s Basketball Guys 18 & up are invited to play a few pickup games Sunday evenings from 5-7pm in the gym. For questions or more information, contact Rawle Clarke.
 
Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Contact the church office if interested in participating.
 
Fishnet This group of amazing ladies meets on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon at the home of Linda Beyer. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please contact Donna Outt.
 
Dessert Reception Sunday, Oct. 6 @ 6PM – We will be hearing from our team that went to Word of Life, Canada, in June. All are invited to join us for ice cream sundaes in the gym as we hear how the team was able to minister to our missionaries, Jonathan & Melissa Ward. Dessert donations greatly appreciated!

NEW OPPORTUNITY! Join the Elective Sunday School Class as they journey through Paul David Tripp’s book, “Do You Believe?”. If you missed it the first time, don’t worry! The class is restarting the book on October 6th, giving you a chance to participate. The first class will meet in Room 230 (above the offices) at 9:15am.

Candy Collection & Help for Trunk-or-Treat The Danville Primary School will be hosting their 4th Annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 5-7pm and FBC will have a trunk present! Rain date is Wed., Oct. 23. Here are a few ways you can help:
  • Pray for safety & that the gospel would reach searching hearts.
  • Candy donations! Donation bins are located in main foyer and gym.
  • Help with the event! Call the office if you want to get in on the fun!
  • Pack treat bags on Thursday, Oct. 17 @ 9AM in the gym.

Montour County Feed A Friend Collection basket will be in the Main Foyer through the month of October! Top Suggestions: Canned items such as vegetables, tuna, cranberry sauce, fruit, soup; Pasta & Sauce; Mac & Cheese, Boxed Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, etc. No refrigerated or frozen items, please.
 
Bells of Joy are Back! Handbell choir is starting up for the Fall. Now is a great time to check it out! The first rehearsal will be Monday, Oct. 14 from 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room. Note: you need to be able to read music.
 
Donuts with the Deacons Sunday, Oct. 6 9-9:20 & 10:10-10:30 in the gym. Meet your mini-flock deacon! A Mini Flock is like a small family within the larger church family. Each family is assigned a deacon alphabetically by last name. Your Mini Flock Deacon is another way you are guided and supported by your church family here at FBC.
