VBS Begins Tomorrow! Please continue praying over this outreach opportunity! Volunteers, please meet up at 5PM in the sanctuary.

VBS Treats Needed! We would greatly appreciate grab-n-go friendly, sweet, or savory snack donations this week for our volunteers! Homemade or store-bought donations can be dropped off in the kitchen.

VBS MISSION OF THE WEEK: QUEBEC’S CHILDREN! The Missionaries: David and Kristy Kelly have four children and serve at the Sherbrooke campus of Word of Life (Parole de Vie) Bible Institute in French-speaking Quebec. Quebec is known as the “largest unreached

people group in North America”! They teach Bible classes as well as French to those desiring to serve in the mission field. The Project: Many have grown up not going to church and don’t know who Jesus is. Word of Life organizes summer camps for local children to come to learn about Jesus, hear the gospel message and, of course, have fun. The Numbers: Cost for 1 Child to go to camp: $150.00.

NO JR Kids Church NEXT WEEK We will all be in the sanctuary for the VBS Closing Ceremony happening during the 10:30am service.

Special Thanks to the Martha Committee! This sweet group sets up and serves meals to the family and friends attending funeral services here at FBC. If you would like to be a part of this group, call the church office or let us know on your connect card.

Men’s Open Gym Senior High guys and older meet for a game of basketball or two every Monday from 7-9pm. Questions? Contact group point person, Tony Zaklama.

Ladies Retreat Weekend September 15-17, 2023 at the gorgeous Linck Hill Inn, Morris, PA. Two Women…Two Stories…Two Songs… We hope you will join us for an unforgettable weekend of Bible Study, building relationships and so much more. Info pamphlets and sign up forms are in the main lobby! Space is limited!! Sign up to reserve your spot -$25 deposit required.

Fishnet This group of amazing ladies meets on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon at the home of Linda Beyer, 536 Fourteenth St., Riverside. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please contact Donna Outt.

Active Retired Men in Service Thursdays @ 8:30AM. This great group of guys meets for devotions, prayer time and lots of fellowship! Following their group time, they also help out around the church as well. Come on over!

Family Fun Day is NEXT SUNDAY!! Following the VBS Closing ceremony during the 10:30 service, everyone is invited to enjoy hotdogs and hamburgers, a giant slip-n-slide, a Little’s Splash Area, crafts, Dunk Tank and MORE! No cost! We’ll also have volleyball & kickball games, can jam, lawn jenga, corn hole, and much more. (Outdoor events are weather pending)

Family Fun Day Volunteers Needed To make this event fun for everyone, we are going to need help!! Food logistics, setup support, game facilitators, clean up crew, etc. Sign up to help on your connect card or call the office.

Cookie/Brownie Donations Needed We are having cookies & brownies for dessert and are in need of all flavors (2 dozen each). Interested? Let us know on your connect card or give the office a call! Please note if there are any nuts included!

Our next Worship Night will be at the Montour-Delong Fair, Sunday, July 23rd at 7pm

The FBC praise team will be leading worship for the Vesper Service again this year. We hope you will join us in supporting and reaching out to our community at this event. The fairground address is 5848 Broadway Rd, Danville, PA 17821.

Ever see someone and can’t remember their name? Or you have a name but no idea what they look like? Well……. It’s time to update OUR CHURCH PHOTO DIRECTORY. We are doing something different this time. In order to include as many families as possible, we would LOVE for you to submit your favorite family portrait or individual selfie. Here are the guidelines..

Photos should be recent (within the last 2 months)
They should be above the waist.*
Choose natural lighting and a simple background. Avoid afternoon sunlight for best results.
Permission must be obtained if using a professional photo.
Make it fun! Add your favorite pet, hobby, or pastime.**
No hats or sunglasses, please. We want to see YOU!

It would be great if we could have all our attenders in there, whether you have been coming here 6 months or 60+ years. Send photos to email@danvillefirstbaptist.org or text them to Rachel by Sept 24th. Along with your photo, please send any updated information you would like included in the directory. Need help? Call the office at (570) 275-1511 and we will set up a time for you to come in and have your picture taken.

Directories will be printed later this year.

FBC Summer Bible Reading Program This year’s theme focuses on the miracles of Jesus. Happy Reading!! Pick up your card at the library!

Complete and return to library by August 13th for a prize. Card must have parent/guardian signature!
