Memorial Poinsettias – Poinsettias may be ordered in honor or in memory of a loved one. The suggested donation is $7.50. If you are interested, please stop by the Info Desk or contact the church office at (570) 275-1511 no later than December 14th.
Adult Open Gym Cancelled for Dec. 10 – There will be no Adult Open Gym tomorrow, December 10. Plan on joining us when we resume the following week.
Fishnet Partners Fishnet Ministries processes large quantities of goods that will be sent to the mission field. This Thursday, they will be working in Room 9 on processing eye glasses in the BFLC from 9-12pm. All are welcome!
Christmas Tracts & More! Check out the Tract Rack for holiday inspired tracts, 2019 calendars, as well as the new Our Daily Bread devotional. These free resources help in sharing encouragement and the good news!
Midweek Meal: Wednesday, December 12: Dinner is served 4:45-5:45 PM. This week’s menu is Chili and Cornbread & the desserts you bring. Please sign up by Monday, 12/10 on the Ramp Bulletin Board, in your SBS class or by calling the office. Suggested donation for meals is $3/person or $10/family. If you know of a shut-in or elderly person and would be willing to deliver a meal to them, it is free of charge. Please put their name on the sign up sheet and indicate “Shut-In”. Desserts are on a donation basis, so feel free to share a dessert any time.
Check out our Info Cards to see all that FBC has to offer whether it’s on Sundays or Wednesdays, for adults or children, you won’t be disappointed! Cards are located at the Info Desk in the main lobby.
Want to meet our pastors? Stop in and have Pizza with the Pastors TODAY following the 10:30am service! It will be an informal time to get to know them and ask questions.
FBC Connect Class Coming Soon! If you are new here and would like to know what we are all about or if you have questions on being baptized or becoming a member, then this is your class! This is a 3-part class and will take place on January 6, 13 & 20 in the Conference Room (across from the church office) at 9:15am. If you have any questions, feel free to call the church office!
December Directory Update: Our FBC directory is a compilation of names, addresses, and phone numbers for all those who attend First Baptist Church. We would like for you to be included whether you are a member, regular attendee or new to the community and planning to make FBC your church family. We’ll need your info by December 12.
Christmas Cookies for Shut-ins We’ll be caroling to our shut-ins next Sunday, and we give each of them a plate of assorted Christmas cookies! If you would like to donate some yummy cookies, please bring them to kitchen next Sunday and note “shut-ins” on them. Carolers will be in the FBC kitchen at 4pm to begin plating them up.
Christmas Offering Envelopes are located in the pews. The Christmas Offering will go towards funding for a new church van as well as funding for our future renovation projects.
Baptism Service Coming! There will be a baptism service taking place on January 27. If you are interested in being baptized at this service, let the pastors know by January 13!
Christmas Tree of Love – Christmas is a time of giving! You will find the Tree of Love in the kitchen foyer by the gym entrance. Each ornament represents a person and a gift request or suggestion. As God leads you, please take an ornament from the tree and return it unwrapped in a Christmas-style gift bag to the church office by December 16th. Please keep the ornament with the gift so we can get it to the right person. If you are giving a gift card, please attach the receipt and/or the activation slip with the gift card.
Christmas Gifts for Truckers! During the Christmas season, FBC has been partnering with Pastor Howard Long for many years in his ministry to truck drivers at the Buckhorn Chapel! This year’s needs are packs of sugar-free gum and cookies! If you would like to participate please bring your cookies, 4 per ziplock baggie, to the collection box in the kitchen on December 9. Gum packs can be dropped off anytime until December 9 in the collection boxes in the main lobby & kitchen.
