Church Picnic NEXT SUNDAY (8/11) Everyone is invited to stay after the 2nd service next Sunday, August 11th for a picnic lunch. We will be hearing more from Dr. Derek Webster, President of Missions Door. Pulled pork and drinks will be provided. Please bring a side or a dessert to share. Signups are in the lobby and gym areas.

Make a Bee-Line to the Library! Check out the new arrivals that have just buzzed in!! Your children will bee thrilled with the selection of books. Please bee sweet as honey and make sure you’re returning what you’ve borrowed. Don’t worry! We don’t sting for late returns!

Active Retired Men in Service Thursdays @ 8:30AM. This great group of guys meets for devotions, prayer time and lots of fellowship! Following their group time, they also help out around the church. Come on over!

Fellowship Fund Giving Opportunity In following the biblical directive to take care of our widows and orphans, FBC created the fellowship fund. This fund not only blesses those financially hurting in our church family, but also those who desire to invest in their marriages. If you would like to give, please note “Fellowship Fund” in the memo of your check or on your envelope.

Family Movie Night Coming Soon!! Join us for an evening of fun and fellowship at our Family Movie Night on Friday, Aug. 23rd at 7pm in the gym. Bring your camp chairs for comfy seating, cozy blankets and snacks to share.

Kitchen Call! Do you enjoy cooking? How about helping in the kitchen? Or setting up the dining area? Maybe even dishwashing! Wednesday Family Meals will be back in action SOON and they need your help! Circle K on your connect card or call the office!

FBC Summer Reading Program How is your Reading Challenge going? This is the last week to finish up your cards. Then turn them in at the library for a small prize. A parent/guardian signature is required for prize eligibility. Cards are due: NEXT SUNDAY!!

Ladies’ Walking Group This Thursday at 6:30pm starting in the gym. This group is for ladies of all ages and walking abilities. They walk

outdoors around the block, unless there is bad weather or extreme heat, then it’s inside The leaders will match your speed. No one is left in the dust. They end the evening with prayer and a short devotion.

“God, Our Refuge” Ladies Retreat Weekend Sept. 13-15, 2024 | Linck Hill Inn – Ladies 18+ are invited to a great weekend of Bible study (diving into the Psalms), games, food, service project, building relationships and creating new ones, and much more. A $25 deposit will secure your spot. Registration forms are in the lobby!!

A huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers who served at VBS and Family Fun Day!! Thanks to all those who donated cookies, snacks, & craft supplies. Thank you to all of you who were praying before and during the week!! God is good and we had a great week!

If you had fun volunteering at VBS & Family Fun Day, here are more opportunities to bless Children & Youth *Child Safe Church Clearances are required for these positions*

Nursery 1.5hrs/week Sun. & Wed. (0 to 3yrs)
AWANA 1.5hrs per week-Wed. evenings (3yrs to 6th grade)
Jr & Sr High 2hrs/week (7th to 12th grade)

Audio/Visual Techs Needed Full coaching and training provided! Interested? Email pjohn@danvillefirstbaptist.org.
Sound Tech: Love music? Have an ear to hear the different instruments in a song? We will equip you to mix and run our sound boards for our radio and sanctuary sound ministry.
Projector Tech: If you love worship music and can navigate a computer, we could use a talented computer tech to run our lyrics for worship
services.
Video Tech: If you have an eye for live broadcasting and enjoy multitasking, you will be controlling multiple cameras via one master computer.

Coffee Hour Volunteers Needed We sure do appreciate having coffee between services. But do you know what it takes?? People willing to come in and make coffee and set up all those goodies. Our coffee team could use your help. They are looking for a few more people willing to join the team. It’s a once a month time commitment. If you are interested, please talk to the Puccios or any one of the team members in the kitchen during that time.

Did you know you can request your own box of offering envelopes? Just fill out an info slip on the ushers’ table, located in the back of the sanctuary. Need more of your envelopes? Just make a note on your connect card! You’ll be able to pick them up from the ushers’ table once they’re ready.

Lost and Found is located in the brown cabinet outside the gym doors.

First aid kits can be found in the coat room behind the sanctuary and in the cabinet outside the gym.

Church Library SUNDAYS | 9:15 – 10:15am – Did you know?? Besides Fiction and Children’s books, we also carry Bible Studies, Apologetics, Counseling, Biographies, DVD’s, Missions, Pre-Teen & Teen Resources and so much more.

VBS MISSION PROJECT

The Missionary: Francklin was appointed as a missionary with Missions Door in 2006 to serve as the youth and children’s ministries coordinator. He works with the pastors of churches that are associated with Missions Door in Haiti, helping those churches develop children’s and youth ministries.

Calling all coffee lovers! We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our Coffee Ministry team. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve, connect with fellow members, and share the warmth of fellowship over a cup of coffee. Whether you’re a barista at heart or eager to learn, we welcome your hands and heart. Talk to one of the team members for more info.

Sensory-Friendly Worship Area “A shush-free, judgment-free zone where ALL can safely learn about God!” Our chapel has been fitted with wiggle seats, fidget toys, dimmable lights, noise-canceling headphones, a calming special-effect light and more! We welcome all who have unique needs to enjoy this area during our Sunday services!

Junior Children’s Church during the 10:30 service welcomes kiddos ages 4 through Kindergarten to their own church service! Registration can be done at check-in. Program will resume next Sunday.

VBS Begins Monday!! Please continue praying over this outreach opportunity! Volunteers, please meet up at 5PM in the sanctuary.

Volunteer Goodies We would greatly appreciate GRAB-N-GO sweet or savory snacks this week for our amazing VOLUNTEERS. Donations can be dropped off in the kitchen.

Special Love Offering Katie Madara will be with us Sunday and we will be taking a love offering for her. If you would like to give, please mark your envelope “Katie Madara” and place it in one of the offering boxes. This should be above and beyond your normal giving.

SUNDAY! Combined Adult Sunday School We will be meeting in the gym at 9:15am to hear from several people who went on short term missions trips this year.

Our coffee team could use your help. They are looking for a few more people willing to join the team. It’s a once-a-month time commitment. 1) Check out the VBS team portal on our website. THE TRAINING VIDEO IS UP!! You can also access staff devos, safe church requirements and much more. **After watching the training video and filling out the completed form, you may pick up your shirt in the main lobby! Suggested Donation for T-shirts -$10

2) Have YOU signed up yet? We are still looking for ADULT HELPERS in the following areas: Nursery, Pre-K, 1st, 5th & 6th, Pre-K Bible helper, K-2nd Bible helper. If you are able to lend a hand in any of these areas, we’d love for you to check out the signups in the main lobby! Your presence is invaluable, and you never know what impact you may have on someone’s life. Won’t you consider joining us this year?

3) Online Registration Closes July 7th! Ages 3* to 6th grade. Pick up a paper copy in the main lobby or gym or scan the QR code to register your kids online. *3-year-olds must be potty trained.

4) LAST CALL!! We could still use more bathroom tissue tubes. Donations can be placed in the baskets in the main lobby & gym areas. THANKS SO MUCH for all the water bottles that were donated!!

Softball Game SUNDAY (6/23) AFTER 2ND SERVICE!! Come and enjoy a friendly game of softball right after our second service! A ballpark lunch awaits you. Let’s make it a great day out on the field! If you don’t play, come out and encourage our players!

New Our Daily Breads! Check out the Tract Rack & Welcome Table to pick up your new Large Print devotional for July | Aug. | Sept.

Combined Adult Sunday School NEXT SUNDAY (6/30)! We will be meeting in the gym at 9:15am to hear from the various short term mission teams that went out this year. What a wonderful opportunity to witness the impact of these trips and see how the Lord was working in their lives and in the lives of those around them.

Coffee Hour Helpers Attention coffee enthusiasts! We are seeking volunteers willing to make and serve coffee during our coffee time between services. If you love coffee and have a heart to serve, please consider joining this team. Feel free to talk to one of the team members for more info!

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Let the office know if you would like to be on our call list.

If you are able to lend a hand in any of these areas, we’d love for you to check out the signups in the main lobby! 5) VBS Craft Collection Thanks for your donations of water bottles!! While we have reached our quota for bottles, we are still

In Honor of Our Fathers FBC is giving a monetary gift to our prison ministry. This ministry brings the good news of the gospel to prisoners in 3 local facilities. They have seen inmates come to know Christ as their Savior and have performed baptisms as well.

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Circle “C” if you would like to be on our call list & write the contact number you’d prefer on your connect card.

ALL THINGS VBS!

1) VBS is coming up July 8-12! Registration is OPEN! Ages 3 (must be potty trained!) to 6th grade. Pick up a paper copy in the main lobby or gym to register your kids online.

2) VBS Team Sign-Ups in Main Foyer Make sure you are up-to-date with your clearances at danvillefirstbaptist.org/safe-church. Go to our website to complete the annual Safe Church Training videos and fill out the corresponding form.

3) NOW AVAILABLE!! Prayer Guides—30 Days/Ways YOU can pray for this ministry. Join us in prayer for the month of June over this outreach event, that God would be glorified. Pick one up today!

4) VBS Craft Collection We are in need of several items for our VBS crafts this year. Donations can be placed in the designated baskets in the main lobby & gym areas. Items needed:

16 oz clear water bottles
Bathroom tissue tubes

5) VBS Team Portal is live! Access devos, t-shirt info, safe church requirements and much more. T-shirts – Suggested Donation $10.

6) VBS Decorating Dates!! We will be meeting three Wednesday nights to work on decorating the church in preparation for the start of VBS!! June 19, 26 & July 3 beginning at 5:30 pm.

DWELL COLLECTION DUE SUNDAY! We are collecting various items for Dwell to put in the care bags that go to foster children. Collection bins will be in the main lobby and gym areas. Here is a list of what they are looking for:

New hand & regular lotion, full size
New water bottles or tumblers of any kind
New LEGO sets for all ages

VBS Paint Party this Wed, June 12 5:30 in gym. We are continuing to prepare props and decorations for our upcoming VBS. Whether you are a seasoned pro or know nothing about painting, we will have a job for you. So come on out.

Ladies Walking Group This group is open to women of all ages and walking abilities. Come, lace up your walking shoes and connect with others while enjoying the beauty of God’s creation with every step. They meet this Thursday at 6:30pm in the gym.

Church Picnic Sunday after the 2nd service @ Mountain View Bible Camp, 99 Mountain View Rd, Snydertown – Direction cards are available for pickup in the lobby. Parking is available along the tree line by the pavilion or in the main lot. If you would like to sit in the grass, feel free to bring blankets and/or camp chairs.

Baptism Sunday is Coming June 16th! If you would like to take the plunge in following Jesus’ example, let us know on your connect card by this Wednesday!!!!

The Barnabas Basket donations are given to the Danville Food Bank. The basket is located in the main lobby this Sunday. June’s Need is Canned Fruit.

Red Cross Blood Drive will be here tomorrow in the gym from 12:30-5:30pm.

College Students Did you know there is a Sunday Bible School class for you? Our Disciplemaker missionary, Jared Knorr, leads this class as they discuss topics of theology. They meet in Room 228 (2nd floor above the office).

Breakfast Sweets Needed Our Sunday morning Coffee Hour team would be grateful for any homemade or store-bought breakfast foods. Please drop off in the kitchen before 9am. Many heartfelt thanks! Wanna join the team? Talk to one of our team members. They will walk you through what you need to know! A HUGE Thank You for the donations we’ve received!!
