Bells of Joy are Back! Handbell choir is starting up for the Fall. Now is a great time to check it out! The first rehearsal is tomorrow night from 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room. Note: you need to be able to read music.
 
Candy Collection & Help for Trunk-or-Treat The Danville Primary School will be hosting their 4th Annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 5-7pm and FBC will have a trunk present! Rain date is Wed., Oct. 23. Here are a few ways you can help:
  • Pray for safety & that the gospel would reach searching hearts.
  • Candy donations due: TODAY!!
  • Help with the event! Call the office if you want to get in on the fun!

Ladies Walking Group This group is open to women of all ages and walking abilities. They meet this Thursday at 6:30pm in the gym. They will be staying inside now till spring.
 
Fishnet This group of amazing ladies meets on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon at the home of Linda Beyer. This week they will be in the gym to help pack treat bags for our Trunk or Treat event at the Danville Middle School.
 
Active Retired Men in Service Thursdays @ 8:30AM. This great group of guys meets for devotions, prayer time and lots of fellowship! Following their group time, they also help out around the church. Come on over!

Samaritan’s Purse Trip Info Meeting Sun., Oct. 27 @ 9am Under balcony in sanctuary – We are organizing a team to assist with hurricane relief and rebuilding efforts. If you feel called to help, please join us for an informational meeting on the last Sunday of this month. Josh Long will be sharing his experience in working with Samaritan’s Purse. Your participation can make a significant difference!

College Ministry Opportunity! Here is a way for us as a church to show our college students our love and support. We are collecting items that will be sent out at the end of October. You can donate items such as snacks, candy and stationery. For a complete list, please see the table in the lobby or the Welcome Table in the gym! Donation Box is by the kitchen. We reset our list every semester. If you would like your student to receive a package, please submit their information, even if it’s the same. We will be packing the boxes on Monday the 28th at 6pm in the gym! Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of shipping. Designate “College Ministry” & place in offering.

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Contact the church office if interested in participating.

The Danville MomCo FIRST MEETING is Sept. 11 9-11am in the FBC Gym. We are looking for volunteers to pour into our kiddos (KidsCo) in the nursery during our meetings the 2nd Wed. of the month, Sept.–May. Contact Jessica Wallish for more info.

Honduras Mission Trip December 7-14, 2024 – Applications are available at the Missions wall in the main lobby. The deadline for submission is NEXT SUNDAY!! While it is mainly an introductory trip, also included will be medical, construction and a children’s outreach. If you have questions, please call the office at (570) 275-1511. Applications may be turned into the office.
 
Project Love October 12-13, 2024 – Oct. 12 is the Day of Service where several area churches come together to show love to our community. Signups are open on the Project Love website. www.projectlovedanvillepa.com. Oct. 13 is the Night of Worship here at the church. Save the date and get ready for an amazing gospel weekend. Church Potluck Coming Soon Sunday, Sept. 29th @ 12pm in Gym – Dr. David Whitaker, the President of Venture Church Network will be here during our services. All are invited to attend a potluck following the 10:30am service, where we will be hearing more from Mr. Whitaker. Signups coming NEXT WEEK!

Care & Concern Ministry began in October 2003 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Let the office know if you would like to be on our call list. They help out in the following areas as their gifts and abilities allow:
  • Make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time
  • Drive people to appointments
  • Sit with the homebound
  • Help with lawn care
  • Shovel snow off walkways and driveways
  • Light cleaning

Located at the Danville River Front Park by the bridge. Bring your chair and join us as we celebrate the public statement of changed life! This is weather and river conditions pending. The backup date is the following Sunday.
 
Kitchen Call Do you enjoy cooking? How about helping in the kitchen? Or setting up the dining area? Maybe even dishwashing! Wednesday Family Meals will be back in action next week and could use your help! Let the office know!

Fellowship Fund Giving Opportunity In following the biblical directive to take care of our widows and orphans, FBC created the fellowship fund. This fund not only blesses those financially hurting in our church family, but also those who desire to invest in their marriages. If you would like to give, please note “Fellowship Fund” in the memo of your check or on your envelope.

MomCo FIRST MEETING (Formerly MOPS) is Sept. 11, 9-11am in the Gym. “MomCo (Mom Community) is where we mobilize moms all over the world to build life-changing community”…Our new season begins next Wed. and this year’s theme is “Wild Hope”. Isaiah 43:18-19. We are looking for volunteers to pour into our kiddos (KidsCo) in the nursery during our meetings the 2nd Wed. of the month, Sept.–May. Contact Jessica Wallish for more info.

Church Missions Picnic Sunday (8/11)! Join us after the 2nd service for our picnic lunch in the gym where we will be hearing more from Dr. Derek Webster, President of Missions Door, about  how the Lord is working through this ministry
 
SPECIAL OFFERING OPPORTUNITY We are collecting donations to go towards our FBC-supported missionaries for Christmas gifts.  This will ensure they get it in plenty of time. Special envelopes are available in the pew racks.  Please note “Christmas” on your check.
