A Special Business Meeting will be held Sunday, January 12 @ 9:10AM. This will be a brief meeting to vote in new members per the deacons’ recommendation. Join us immediately following the 8am service in the sanctuary.
 
Vintage Knolls Visit Our next visit will be Saturday, January 4th at 2pm. Anyone is welcome to come play bingo with the residents and help with crafts. Contact Jen Van Horn if you are interested in going. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community.
 
Prayer Walk COMING IN JANUARY Thursday, Jan. 9, 12-8pm; Friday, Jan. 10, 9am-5pm; Saturday, Jan. 11, 8am-12pm – Couldn’t make our prayer walk on Thursday last time? We are trying something new this year and opening up the prayer walk for several days. Join us as we start the new year in prayer for our church.
 
Christmas Offering This special offering will be going to finish the building project started by our missions team. It is a building next to one of the churches that will have a kitchen and dining room to meet the needs of the community as well as opportunities to share the gospel. Special Christmas envelopes are available in pews and near offering boxes. Please note “Honduras” on donations.
 
Ladies’ Bible Study is beginning Tuesdays at 9AM beginning January 14. “Behold and Believe” by Marian Jordan Ellis – Who is Jesus? How one answers this question proves the most important thing about them. In Behold and Believe, a verse-by-verse Bible study of the Gospel of John, women will behold the glory of God revealed in Jesus Christ and experience His life-transforming power as they come to believe that He is the great I AM! Workbooks are available for pickup (suggested donation of $20). Sign up today in the main lobby! Nursery & Kids’ Jumpstart program available.
 
GAME NIGHTS ARE BACK! Friday, January 17th @ 6pm in the gym. Bring your favorite games and a snack to share. Let’s beat the winter blues by gathering together to play games and fellowship!
 
The Barnabas Basket happening January 5 is our monthly food collection. All donations are given to the Danville Food Bank. The basket is located in the main foyer. January’s Need: CANNED FRUIT. They’re looking for volunteers to help distribute food the 2nd Sat. of every month.

Project Christmas Card Goal: Send 500 Christmas cards to prisoners in the Columbia, Montour, Northumberland and NCSTU Prisons. PLEASE fill out and return them ASAP to the baskets in the main lobby and gym areas! Cards due Sunday (12/8)!!
 
Memorial Poinsettias Order them in honor or memory of your loved ones. The suggested donation is $8.50. If you are interested, please contact the church office by Sunday (12/8)! They will be available to pick next week!

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Contact the church office if you would like to be on our call list.
 
Fishnet This group of amazing ladies meets on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon at the home of Linda Beyer. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please contact Donna Outt.

As God leads you, please take an ornament from the tree and return it unwrapped in a Christmas-style gift bag to the church office by Wednesday!. Please keep the ornament with the gift so we can get it to the right person. If you are giving a gift card, please attach the receipt and/or the activation slip with the gift card.
 
Call for Cookies We will be delivering gifts Friday and caroling Saturday to our shut-ins. We love adding a goody bag of Christmas cookies. If you would like to donate any yummy cookies, please bring them to the kitchen by Thursday. Mark it for shut-ins. We will pack cookies at 4PM.
 
Looking for Delivery Drivers Wanna rev your engines for a sweet cause? We are looking for drivers to assist us in dropping off Christmas gifts to our sweet home bound church family. Gift pick-up will be this Friday from 9am-4pm in the main foyer. Drivers will be provided with addresses and phone numbers.

Thanksgiving Eve Service THIS WEDNESDAY @ 7PM – This service celebrates and gives thanks to God for all He has done for us throughout the year. There will be a time of worship, prayer, thanksgiving & devotion. You are welcome to bring visiting family & friends, as well! We hope to see you there. NO WEDNESDAY MEAL THIS WEEK!
 

Last Call for School Supplies! We are in need of new school supplies for the upcoming trip to Honduras in December. We are also asking for NEW, SMALL stuffed animals (no bigger than a Beanie Baby) to hand out during the kids’ ministry time. Collection basket is in the main lobby through December 1st. Here is a list of items we are looking for:

Christmas Opportunities Coming Soon Christmas will be here before we know it. The Christmas cards for the prisoners will be available to pick up next week and the Tree of Love will be set up the week of Thanksgiving!

Costa Rica Benefit Dinner Sat., Nov. 23 @ 6pm – Come for a delicious meal of spaghetti & meatballs, salad, garlic bread, and desserts prepared by the students and parents. The cost is free and all donations will go towards the Youth Mission trip in June. Sign-ups and details coming soon!!
 
Winterwear Collection We are collecting gently used, like-new winter outerwear, e.g. coats, hats, gloves, scarves, snowpants, etc. They will be delivered to Rochester, NY where our missionary Marvin Robinson will hand them out to the community. Donation Box in main lobby. Due 11/17.
 
School Supplies Needed We are collecting new school supplies for the upcoming trip to Honduras in Dec. We are also asking for NEW, SMALL stuffed animals (no bigger than a Beanie Baby) to hand out during the kids’ ministry time. Baskets are in the main lobby & gym. Thanksgiving Eve Service Wednesday, November 27 @ 7PM – This service celebrates and gives thanks to God for all He has done for us throughout the year. There will be a time of worship, prayer, thanksgiving & devotion. You are welcome to bring visiting family & friends, as well! We hope to see you there.

Fellowship Fund Giving Opportunity In following the biblical directive to take care of our widows and orphans, FBC created the fellowship fund. This fund not only blesses those financially hurting in our church family, but also those who desire to invest in their marriages. If you would like to give, please note “Fellowship Fund” in the memo of your check or on your envelope.

Project Updates
  • Trunk or Treat—over 1400 bags were packed with goodies!
  • College Care—24 boxes were prepared and prayed over! Boxes are available for pick-up in the Main Lobby for those who requested it. Thank you for your generosity!!
 
Vintage Knolls Visits This Saturday, Nov. 9th from 2-4p, we will be visiting Vintage Knolls to engage in various activities such as crafts and games. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact on our community and build relationships. For more information or if interested in attending, contact Jen Van Horn. On Dec. 7th we are looking for a few people willing to play an instrument. Let’s come together to share the love of Christ!

Samaritan’s Purse Trip Info Meeting is Sunday (10/27) @ 9am under the balcony in sanctuary. We are organizing a team to assist with hurricane relief and rebuilding efforts. If you feel called to help, please join us for an informational meeting on the last Sunday of this month. Josh Long will be sharing his experience in working with Samaritan’s Purse. Your participation can make a significant difference!
