3) Knight’s Challenge – Invite 3 non-FBC friends or neighbors to VBS this year. Pray for God to provide an opportunity and that hearts would be open to coming. Give them a door hanger invite after asking them. Door hanger invites are available in main lobby and gym.
4) VBS MISSION OF THE WEEK is QUEBEC’S CHILDREN! The Missionaries: David and Kristy Kelly have four children and serve at the Sherbrooke campus of Word of Life (Parole de Vie) Bible Institute in French-speaking Quebec. Quebec is known as the “largest unreached
people group in North America”! They teach Bible classes as well as French to those desiring to serve in the mission field. The Project: Many have grown up not going to church and don’t know who Jesus is. Word of Life organizes summer camps for local children to come to learn about Jesus, hear the gospel message and, of course, have fun. The Numbers: Cost for 1 Child to go to camp: $150.00.
Family Fun Day is Sunday, July 16!! Following the VBS Closing ceremony during the 10:30 service, everyone is invited to enjoy hotdogs and hamburgers, a giant slip-n-slide, a Little’s Splash Area, crafts, NEW!! Dunk Tank and MORE! No cost! We’ll also have volleyball & kickball games, can jam, lawn jenga, corn hole, and much more. (Outdoor events are weather pending)
Family Fun Day Volunteers Needed! To make this event fun for everyone, we are going to need help!! Food logistics, setup support, game facilitators, clean up crew, etc. Sign up to help on your connect card or call the office.
Cookie/Brownie Donations Needed We are planning to have cookies & brownies for dessert and are in need of all flavors (2 dozen each). Interested? Let us know on your connect card or give the office a call! Please note if there are any nuts included!

In Honor of Our Fathers FBC is giving a monetary gift to our prison ministry. This ministry brings the good news of the gospel to prisoners in 3 local facilities. They have seen inmates come to know Christ as their Savior and have performed baptisms as well.
Combined Adult Sunday School Sunday @ 9:15 in the gym – We welcome all Adult classes to join us as we hear from our missionaries, Tom & Annie Dennen with the Jesus Film Project, CRU. They will be giving an update of how God has been working in their lives and the life of the ministry.

Promotion Sunday – Sunday, May 28 @ 9:15am – Join us in the sanctuary for a short program as we celebrate the end of the school year! We’ll be presenting Bibles to new 1st graders (current Kindergarteners), devotions to our new 4th graders (current 3rd graders), and acknowledging our 6th & 8th graders move to Middle & High Schools. We’ll also be thanking our teachers for their tireless work throughout the year. New classes will begin on Sunday, June 4th. Adult classes are invited to attend!
Special Memorial Opportunities Your donation will benefit the Montour County Veterans Assistance Fund. This fund assists local veterans in our area who have fallen on hard times. There is a special collection box located at the Welcome Desk. FBC will also be placing a wreath during the Memorial Day ceremonies.

Ladies Open Door Summer Study Begins this Wednesday! In person – 6:30pm | Zoom – 7pm. Proverbs study books and sign ups are in the Main Lobby. Suggested book donation is $17.
Spring Business Meeting Recap At the congregational meeting on May 24th, we began with voting on a new membership at the Deacon’s recommendation. A furnace update was given and it should be arriving this summer. Also discussed was the possibility of installing playgrounds and a pavilion for group use but also for outreach purposes. Any suggestions would be welcome.

The Barnabas Basket is a monthly food collection that takes place on the first Sunday of the month (Communion Sunday). All donations are given to the Danville Food Bank. The basket will be located in the main foyer. June’s Need: Canned Fruit

All Church Picnic – Sunday (5/21) @ 12PM at Mountain View Bible Camp, Snydertown – Grilled chicken, chips, & paper products will be provided. Side dishes and desserts will be welcome. Bring ball gear for basketball, baseball, etc. There is also a playground for the younger kids. See you there!
Spring Business Meeting This Wed @ 7pm in chapel. Join us as we catch up on what’s going on at FBC! We will begin the meeting by voting in a new member candidate recommended by our Board of Deacons. We will also give a furnace update. Pick up your copy of the report in the main lobby and gym. One per family, please.
Baccalaureate is Sunday (5/21) at 7PM at the Danville High School. Pastor Dawes and Pastor Luke are participating in the service. All are welcome to attend! Fishnet This group of amazing ladies meets on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon at the home of Linda Beyer. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please contact Donna Outt.
Special Mother’s Day Offering Next Sunday is Mother’s Day and we will be focusing on our Mothers of Preschoolers group. A special freewill offering will be taken to bless our group. This should be above and beyond your normal giving. Please designate checks/envelopes with “MOPS”.

Scholarship Funds Available The Mission Board will be accepting applications for post-high school education from applicants planning to attend post-graduate training at an academic facility with the intent to pursue ministry or missionary work upon graduation. Applications can be picked up outside the Church Office. Deadline to submit your application is May 15th. For more information regarding the scholarship please contact Gary Lewis.

Through this four-session Bible study, you’ll gain an appreciation for this popular and applicable book as well as learn how to develop a daily habit of seeking wisdom from God’s Word. In person and zoom. Study books and sign ups are in the Main Lobby. Suggested book donation is $17. Childcare available upon request.

Fellowship Fund Giving Opportunity In following the biblical directive to take care of our widows and orphans, FBC created the fellowship fund. Youth Parent Meeting Sunday (4/30) @ 6PM in the chapel – This event will be focused on today’s issues concerning Christian Identity, Sexuality and Parenting from a biblical perspective. Pastor Luke will be discussing the biblical principles that guide our understanding of these topics and how we can effectively engage our children in discussion. It is open to all parents who are seeking guidance and support in navigating these important issues. We hope you will join us.
National Day of Prayer This Thursday, May 4th @ Noon – Join us and other local churches on the steps of the Montour County Courthouse to pray for our Nation, its leaders, teachers, service personnel, and more. Rain or shine! Bring a camp chair if you like.

College Care Ministry Our opportunity to support & show love to our college students during finals! Items due Sunday (4/23)! Monetary donations are gratefully accepted to help with postage. Please designate “College ministry” and place in the offering. Help us pack and pray over the boxes Monday night @ 6pm!
Spring Clean Up April 29 This Saturday | 8A-1P – Join us in taking care of the building and property God has given us! Then stick around for a pizza lunch! Great for all ages and abilities!
Awana Closing Celebration – Wednesday, April 26 – Pizza @ 5pm, Program @ 6pm – The Awana children have been hard at work all year learning verses and completing assignments as they hide God’s word in their hearts. Come and encourage them on as they receive their book awards! Please sign up for the meal in your Sunday School class or on the ramp bulletin board by today. All are welcome!!
