Mothers of Preschoolers – MOPS is part of an international movement to connect moms who have one or more children ages birth to kindergarten. Our goal is to provide you with a tribe of supportive women as you navigate the world of motherhood, faith, and life together. GAiN World Hunger Project – Saturday, September 8 – 9am-12pm – Join hundreds of volunteers to pack rice, lentils, beans & seed packets for needy people in Africa and the Middle East! Event Goals: 375 Volunteers | $27,000 for meals/seeds; Pack 75,000 meals & 8,000 seed packets.

School Supplies for Haiti – During the month of August, the Haiti Team is collecting school supplies for the children of Haiti. We’ll take these with us and distribute them during our November trip. Please leave your donations of the following suggested items in

- Wireless Update: Riverside Communications will be doing the upgrade
- New audio equipment has been installed in the BFLC

Danville World Hunger Project On Saturday, September 8 from 9-12pm, hundreds of people will join together in the BFLC to pack thousands of meals and seed packs for international relief! You do not want to miss this! To donate and/or register go to www.danvillefirstbaptist.org/gain/.
Blood Drive Tomorrow: Red Cross Blood Drive will be here tomorrow in the BFLC from 1:00-6:00pm. Stop and see Jack and Brenda who will be serving food in the kitchen to all donors!
Trim Healthy Mama Are you looking for a healthier eating lifestyle? Maybe you have heard of Trim Healthy Mama and would like to know more or have already started and are completely overwhelmed. You are invited to the first meeting of our THM group August 15 at 6pm. A potluck dinner will be held, sharing THM dishes and recipes, as well as discussion about the program. Baptism Service – 4:30 PM Sunday~ At FBC – The baptism service which was to take place at the river will now be held at FBC. Join us in encouraging our brothers and sisters in Christ and celebrating with them as they make a public profession of their faith.
Pizza with the Pastors – Following the 10:30am service Sunday. For new attenders—Join the pastors for an informal time together to help us get better acquainted with one another. No RSVP needed—just stop in!
Fishnet Partners! Fishnet Ministry processes large quantities of glasses, school supplies, etc. that will be used on short-term trips by teams from FBC, GAiN and Joni and Friends. This Thursday (8/9), they will be
processing eye glasses in Room 9 from 9am-12pm. All are welcome!

A great big thank you to all the VBS volunteers, coordinators, and parents & guardians for bringing their children each evening! We had so much fun exploring God’s word on our arctic adventure.
River Baptism Finger Food Donations are needed for the baptism and can be dropped off in the FBC kitchen that morning or brought to the service.
Dessert Reception for Pastor Guillo Join us for spiritual encouragement on July 18 at 6pm in the BFLC as he gives his recap on what’s been going on in Haiti! Any and all desserts would be appreciated! Please bring them to the kitchen.

Room Closets, Storage Closets, Storage Areas – everything must be sorted through! Unwanted items can be temporarily put in room 11 (next to the women’s bathroom by Springer Chapel). Items to be left in main storage areas should be clearly marked with either owner’s name or the ministry’s name. Treasure Fest will take place on the following Sundays (7/29, 8/1 & 8/8) where everyone will have a chance to go through the unwanted items!
Did you happen to see that we updated the projector? Wow! Well now we’re in need of a few more projector techs to help run the
display! You need to be good with a computer and familiar with the songs we sing on Sunday mornings. We’ll provide you with one-on-one training so that you’re fully equipped for the job. If you’re interested, circle “P” on your connect card or give the office a call!

Summer Movie at FBC! Showing “I Can Only Imagine” Friday, July 20 – 8:30pm – Weather permitting, we’ll be showing it outside, so bring your camp chairs, lounge chairs, beach blankets, etc. Bring camp snacks to share too if you’d like! If it rains, we’ll be showing it in the gym!
The Barnabas Basket During the first weekend of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket will be in the Foyer today. July’s need is Jell-O and Pudding.

Special Business Meeting Recap A t 9:05am on Sunday 6/24, we voted on the approval of the specific items for Phase One and the concepts of Phase Two as listed in the four page handout (located at the Info Desk). The vote came back as 110-Yes, 7-No and 9-Abstaining. Thank you for your time, support and prayer for this endeavor!
Yard Work? Odd Jobs? July 8-14 is 24/7 Mission Week for Jr. High! They’ll be doing various service projects during the week, having Bible sessions and helping out at VBS. Please call the church office if you or someone you know could use some assistance with any odd jobs.

LuoPad Team Join us the first Thursday of every month at 9:30am as we continue to assemble LuoPads in the BFLC. This is an ongoing mission through GAiN that provides sanitary undergarments to women all over the world! We’d love to have you join us!
Yard Work? Odd Jobs? July 8-14 is 24/7 Mission Week for Jr. High! They’ll be doing various service projects during the week, having Bible sessions and helping out at VBS. Please call the church office if you or someone you know could use some assistance with any odd jobs.

Wanna Be a Buddy? God’s Champions is a ministry here at FBC that shares God’s love with those who have special needs. Buddies provide one-on-one support so our special friends can enjoy their Sunday School classes, VBS and more! For more information or to volunteer, contact Michele Whitenight. You can also pick up a God’s Champions Volunteer pamphlet at the Info Desk.

VBS Registration is Happening! You can register kiddos ages 4 years to 6th grade online at www.danvillefirstbaptist.org/vbs-2018. Online registration wraps up July 5!! Paper registrations can be printed off at the webpage or you can pick one up at the Info Desk! VBS is July 9-13 from 6-8:30pm.
Treasure Fest 2018 Calling all Sunday School Teachers, Ministry Leaders and anyone storing anything here. We are going through a church-wide storage cleaning! Room Closets, Storage Closets, Storage Areas – everything must be sorted through! Unwanted items can be temporarily put in room 11 (next to the women’s bathroom by Springer Chapel). Items to be left in main storage areas should be clearly marked with either owner’s name or the ministry’s name. Treasure Fest will take place on the following Sundays (7/29, 8/1 & 8/8) where everyone will have a chance to go through the unwanted items!
Ladies Retreat Sept. 14-16 – We’ll be studying Keep It Shut by Karen Ehman at the gorgeous Linck Hill Inn located in Morris, PA. To sign up or for more information on cost, meals, books and more, contact Sheri Croll.
FBC SAFE CHURCH CLASS is on RightNow Media. Here at FBC, all adults working with children are required to take a yearly Child Safe Church class. If you attended a class before 2018, you may take a refresher course online to fulfill this requirement.
Step 1: Have RightNow Media access? Then check your email for your class invite! Don’t have access? Email the office and say “I need access and the Safe Church Class!” **You MUST be invited to this class for your progress to be recorded**
Step 2: Watch the video and answer 2 questions. Next… you’re done!
If you have never taken our Safe Church class in person, join Ruth Ann at 11am, Tuesday morning in the Springer Chapel. If you cannot make this meeting, please contact the office to get your name on the class list.
