MISSIONS RECAP WEDNESDAY | 6PM – Join us in the gym this Wednesday for a sweet time of fellowship and stories. We’ll be serving ice cream sundaes as we hear from our Costa Rica and Word of Life missions teams. Come celebrate what God is doing around the world through our church.

Ladies Retreat Weekend is Coming! Sept. 12-14, 2025. Spots are filling up, so make sure you register TODAY! A $25 deposit with your registration will secure your spot. Balance is due August 31st.

FBC Summer Reading Program It’s time to finish up your reading challenge. Have a parent or guardian sign your card and return it to the library to earn a prize. Cards are due back to the library NEXT SUNDAY!

Save the Date!! Project Love is coming! Saturday, October 18—Day of Service, Sunday, October 19—Night of Worship. Signups available soon!

Men’s Retreat at Camp Orchard Hill, October 12-14. See table in the lobby for signup information or talk to Pastor John.

Fishnet: This group of amazing ladies meets on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon. This week they will be meeting here at the church in Room 107, behind the gym. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please contact Linda Beyer.

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Circle “C” if you would like to be on our call list & write the contact number you’d prefer on your connect card.

Our Baptism Service is Going to the River September 7 @ 4pm. If you would like to take the plunge in following Jesus’ example, let us know on your connect card by Sunday, August 24th. We will be at the boat launch off of Water St. Bring your chair and join us as we celebrate the public statement of changed life! This is weather and river conditions pending.

BACK TO SCHOOL SOFTBALL GAME Sunday, August 24 @ 12 pm – Anyone ages 12 and up is invited to play. We will enjoy a quick ballpark lunch before heading out to the ball field to play. All are invited to watch and cheer the teams on. Bring a lawn chair. Sign up in the lobby or gym if you will be here for lunch.

MomCo Playpalooza Kids Play Date & MomCo Open House is Wednesday, August 13 9-11am at FBC. Activities for kids include a bounce house, sensory stations, arts & crafts, and dress up. Come see what MomCo is all about – a community of moms doing motherhood together.

Ladies’ Bible Study begins September 9 & 10. The Tuesday study will have two options this year:

7 Feasts by Erin Davis is an 8 week study answering the question, “Should modern-day believers care about the Feast of Trumpets or other such puzzling celebrations in the Bible?” Book is a suggested donation of $10.
Desperate for Hope by Vaneetha Risner is a 7-session study that tackles the hard questions and offers a scriptural framework to help you find hope in your pain. Book is a suggested donation of $20.

Honduras Team Meeting Sunday (8/3)! Our next trip to Honduras will be January 3-10, 2026. There is a team meeting Sunday in the gym following the second service.

Fellowship Fund Giving Opportunity In following the biblical directive to take care of our widows and orphans, FBC created the fellowship fund. This fund blesses those financially hurting in our church family. If you would like to give, please note “Fellowship Fund” in the memo of your check or on your envelope.

HONDURAS 2026 Our next trip to Honduras will be January 3-10, 2026. Applications are available at the Mission Wall in the main lobby and are due back to the office by this Thursday!! There will be a team meeting Sunday, August 3rd, in the gym following the second service.

Vintage Knolls Visit this Saturday at 2pm, Anyone is welcome to come. Contact Jen Van Horn if you are interested. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community. This week, we will be joining the residents making ice cream sundaes!

The Barnabas Basket is a monthly food collection that takes place on the first Sunday of the month (Communion Sunday). All donations are given to the Danville Food Bank. The basket will be located in the main foyer. August’s Need: Peanut Butter & Saltines

Rice Boxes are still available in the lobby for those wanting to collect their loose change this summer for a good cause! They are due back September 7th with all donations going to Honduras.

Ladies Walking Group: This group is open to women of all ages and walking abilities. Come, lace up your walking shoes and connect with others while enjoying the beauty of God’s creation with every step. We meet every other Thursday @ 6:30pm beginning in the gym. After a short break, we are starting up again this Thursday, July 31st!

VBS MISSIONARY PROJECT

The Missionaries: Karen Sam Pang is the Children’s Ministry Director in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She (along with her husband, Pastor Josue) & her team teach Bible classes on Sunday with music, crafts, & games. They also have outreach programs like VBS, Christmas programs & community outreach where they share food & school supplies with the children.

The Project: Support the Children’s Kitchen (meals for kids) and sports/ play area development (cement pad, artificial grass, sports/play equipment) at our partner church in Honduras
Our Goal: $7,000 – Mark any donations “VBS Mission” or you can use the designated envelopes in the pews.

Family Fun Day is Sunday (7/13)!! Following the VBS Closing ceremony during the 10:30 service, everyone is invited to njoy hotdogs and hamburgers, giant slip-n-slides, a Little’s Splash Area, crafts, lawn games and MORE! FREE!

SUMMER HELP NEEDED at WoL, Quebec! Word of Life is looking to fill some volunteer positions for summer camp season at their Quebec campus where our missionaries, David & Kristy Kelly, minister. Room & board with opportunities to participate in camp activities included. Any time June 28-July 27. If interested, contact the church office!

Youth Mission Trip to Costa Rica While our team is in Costa Rica, would you consider picking up a prayer guide and praying for the team members as they share the love of Jesus this week? Prayer Guides can be found in the Main Foyer at the Mission Wall.

Word of Life Trip Next Week Our team is excited to serve & show God’s love in tangible ways as they work through their list of projects at Word of Life, Canada, supporting our home-grown missionaries Jonathan & Melissa Ward. Right now, we are only a third of the way to our goal. If you feel led to give towards this trip, your support will help us make a meaningful impact to the Wards and the students that attend the Bible School. See the extra insert for a complete list and project totals. Mark any donations “Word of Life”.

Ladies Grief Group has been put on hold for the summer. The group will resume again in September with the start of our fall ministries.

In Honor of Our Fathers FBC is giving a monetary gift to our prison ministry. This ministry brings the good news of the gospel to prisoners in three local facilities. They have seen inmates come to know Christ as their Savior and have had the opportunity to baptize several inmates.

Ladies Grief Group has been put on hold for the summer. The group will resume again in September with the start of our fall ministries.

COMMUNITY PRAYER WALK Sunday (6/8) after the 10:30 service. All are invited to join us in praying for our community of Danville as we walk around town. It’s a great opportunity to come together and pray for our family, friends, neighbors and local businesses. We will meet at the Canal St. amphitheater by Beiter’s. Please wear comfortable shoes. In case of rain, we will drive.

Samaritan’s Purse Team Meeting—9:15am, Sunday, June 8 – There will be a meeting Sunday under the balcony for those going to Kentucky in August. If you have any questions, contact Donna Outt.

Summer Ministry Opportunity This summer, we’re inviting everyone to pick up a Rice Box by the Mission Wall in the main lobby! Use it to

TODAY @ 9:15am – Join us in the sanctuary for a short program as we celebrate the end of the school year! We’ll be presenting Bibles to new 1st graders (current Kindergarteners), devotionals to our new 4th graders (current 3rd graders), and acknowledging our 6th & 8th graders move to Middle & High School. We’ll also be thanking our teachers for their tireless work throughout the year. Kids will move to their new classes next Sunday, June 1st. Adult classes are invited to attend!

LAST CALL FOR CHURCH PICNIC Next Sunday after 2nd Service Make sure you sign up for our annual church picnic at the scenic Mountain View Bible Camp. Special Memorial Opportunities – Memorial Sunday, there will be a special collection opportunity that will benefit the Montour County Veterans Assistance Fund. This fund assists local veterans in our area who have fallen on hard times.

Spring Business Meeting Recap At the business meeting on Saturday, May 17th, Pastor Dawes gave on update on Honduras. A playground/pavilion update was given and the location approved. The Constitution Revisions were also approved. If you would like to give towards the playground/pavilion project, mark your donations “playground/pavilion project”. This should be above and beyond your normal giving. For any questions on the project, please see a member of the Trustee Board.

Fight Club Closing – This Friday at 6pm in the Sanctuary You’re invited to join the men and their families as they celebrate what the Lord has done in their lives over the past 10 weeks as they studied the Word, completed challenges and held each other accountable. There will be singing, testimonies and more. What a great way to encourage and support the men of our church. Refreshments to follow in the gym.
