Barnabas Sunday Next Week During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket is in the Foyer. November’s need is for Tuna & Canned Meat.
LuoPad Team Join us the first Thursday of every month in the gym at 9:30am. The LuoPads we assemble will be added to kits that will be handed out in Costa Rica by the Women’s Ministry team. If you’d like sewing lessons so you can help out, contact Patty Miller. Monetary donations can be made out to FBC with LuoPads in the memo.

The Forge welcomes back Shane Manney for a time of worship! Tuesday, October 29 @ 7PM – Shane is the founder and director of 5 Stones Fight Club in Lebanon, PA, an outreach focused on at risk youth. While the gospel is first and foremost, participants also learn discipline, character development as well as growing deeper spiritually. His praise band will be joining him on this trip for a time of worship! All are welcome!

FBC is Hosting the Jubilee Kitchen – Diane Gelbaugh will be mixing things up in the Jubilee Kitchen on November 23. Monetary donations would be greatly appreciated to cover the cost of the meal. Please make checks out to FBC with “Jubilee Kitchen” in the memo. Any excess donations will go to benefit the Youth Missions fund.
Wanted! Winter Clothing and Outerwear – Now’s the time to go through your closets to bless those in Rochester, NY! Missionary, Marv Robinson, will distribute all sizes of jackets, coats, gloves, mittens, scarves, sweaters, hoodies, pants, etc. The collection bin is located by the kitchen until November 10.

God’s Champions ministry is coordinated by Michele Whitenight and works to welcome children with special needs into all opportunities our church has to offer children! This ministry also offers educational opportunities on how we can be better friends to those who have special needs. Give Michele a call if you would like to be a part of the GC Team!

Building Project Update: The new youth room is nearing the end of the contractor’s portion of that project. We will soon be doing our part to help save money for Phase One.
The jobs we will need to complete are:
- Painting
- Making barn doors for the closet
- Installing flooring and trim
- Making the stage
- Wrapping the steel posts
- Installing barn wood on one wall
We will be starting this job list soon! If you have the skill set to help in any of these areas please contact Doug Wesner. We can work around your schedule. Thanks in advance!!

- Help prep and paint their new space as the Good Samaritan Mission works to expand their ministry.
- Reverse trick-or-treat at Grandview Nursing & Rehab! Kids come in costume and bring treats to give to the residents.
- Help winterize the Southside Fire Company facility and receive a free lunch!
- Clean up & organize food with the Danville Food Bank at Shiloh UCC as they get ready for the Feed a Friend program this fall.
- Have fun crafting, reading, and spending time with the residents at Vintage Knolls!
- Help cook lunch for the families staying at Ronald McDonald House as their loved ones are cared for at Geisinger.
- Don your work clothes and gloves and join the cleaning crew at Hess Field clearing trails.
- Help clean and improve the children’s space at Danville Area Community Center.

New Bern Mission Trip – FBC is Going to NC…AGAIN!! We are looking for 3 volunteers to join our team of 5 as we partner with Samaritan’s Purse in ministering to families in New Bern, NC. :

Hurricane Florence was referred to as the “storm of a lifetime” for the Eastern North Carolina region and our rebuild volunteers will be making construction repairs to homes. Here are the details:

Choir practice will begin on Monday evening, September 9th, from 7:15-8:30pm in the sanctuary. If you are interested in joining the choir, come to a rehearsal! Our only requirements are that you love the Lord, attend rehearsals and can match pitch!
Bells of Joy handbell choir is starting up for the Fall as well. Now is a great time to check it out, you just need to be able to read music. Our first rehearsal will be on Monday, September 9 from 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room.

Barnabas Sunday During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket is in the Foyer this Sunday. September’s need is for Canned Vegetables.
LuoPad Team – Join us the first Thursday of every month in the gym at 9:30am. The LuoPads we assemble will be added to kits that will be handed out in Costa Rica by the Women’s Ministry team. If you’d like sewing lessons so you can help out, contact Patty Miller. Monetary donations can be made out to “FBC” with “LuoPads” noted in the memo.
Summer Soup Cans – Remember those cans you picked up in May to put loose change in for the sunglasses & eye glasses that are handed out on mission trips? They are due back Sept. 15. This new small group will have their own table(s) at the MOPS meetings. Meetings are held 9-11am 2nd Wednesday of each month September through May. Techies needed – If interested, contact the church office. Sound Tech: Love music? Have an ear to hear the different instruments in a song? We will equip you to mix and run our sound boards for our radio and sanctuary sound ministry. Projector Tech: If you love worship music and can navigate a computer, we could use a talented computer tech to run our lyrics for worship services. Video Tech: You will be controlling multiple cameras via one master computer. You’ll need an eye for live broadcasting and enjoy multitasking.
Come & Help in The Kitchen! Family Meals are beginning September 4 and we are looking for big hearts to help us out in the kitchen on Wednesday evenings. Here’s how you can help & the estimated time needed; Food Prep (3 hours), Setup (1 hour), Serving (1.5 hours) & Clean-up (1.5 hours). If you are interested, contact the church office.
